AI, for the rest of us
So nothing falls through the cracks.
An assistant that remembers where you put things.
The rest of it
Most people have met AI by now. They have asked it to settle an argument, or tidy up a post. Then they closed it.
That is about a tenth of what it is for. Nobody explains the rest.
The rest is your ordinary week. The renewal you keep meaning to check. The message you have not answered. The thing you promised someone in March.
Never Lose the Plot is the bridge between you and an assistant that holds all of that for you.
What changes
Before, you ask AI to write an email to your landlord, and it asks you what to say.
After, you ask it to write that email to Brian, and it already knows. The leak in the back bedroom. The call on the 11th. The man who never came. It even remembers you hate sounding rude.
Nothing clever happened. It just read your notes.
The whole product is that sentence. Everything else here is the setup that makes it true on an ordinary Tuesday.
What you will use it for
- iWhere was I? Come back to anything after days away and it tells you where you stopped and what is next.
- iiThe message you have been putting off. The complaint, the apology, the awkward reply. A first draft in your own voice, ready for you to fix and send.
- iiiMaking sense of a document. The letter from the city. Eleven pages of insurance terms. Ask what it actually says.
- ivTurning a ramble into a list. Talk for two minutes. Get back a list, with the urgent things at the top.
- vCatching a thought before it is gone. Say it into your phone in the car. File it later.
- viKeeping what matters. The stories, the recipes, the things worth writing down before they are gone from your head.
What you get
- iA ready-made notebook for your computer, already organised.
- iiA guided setup: your assistant interviews you, then writes its own instructions to fit your life.
- iiiPlain-English setup guides for Windows and Mac. No technical skills needed.
- ivFive ground rules built in, including: it never sends anything to anyone without you seeing it first.
- vA morning and evening routine that takes a few minutes.
Setup takes about an hour.
What it will not do
- iIt will not message anyone for you. You always press send.
- iiIt will not do anything while you are not there.
- iiiIt is not magic. It is a filing cabinet with a helpful person sitting next to it.
- ivIt will sometimes be wrong. It is built to say "I am not sure" out loud.
This section stays on the page at full size. A product that is honest about its edges is easier to trust than one that is not, and it is the section we would be tempted to shrink.
Built around how memory actually works
Not ours. Yours.
You will not remember the date. You will remember the leak in the back bedroom. So the notebook teaches one small habit and nothing else: put the date first, then a few words you will actually go looking with.
2026-09-21 - the leak in the back bedroom 2026-09-21 - insurance renewal, the confusing bit 2026-10-02 - what Sam said about the shed
The date puts them in order without you thinking about it. The words are what find them again. Your assistant reads those names too, which is why "what was that thing about the back bedroom?" works.
It is a filing habit, not a trick. Four seconds each time, and it is the difference between a folder you can search and a folder you avoid opening.
The number
Every copy is issued in order, and the number is yours. It arrives with your download and it lives at its own small page you can keep or show people.
There is no member count on this page and there will not be one. A number is something you are given. It is not a scoreboard, and the moment it becomes one we would be tempted to inflate it.
What it costs
$59 US, once.
Plus your own Claude plan from Anthropic, the company that makes the assistant. You pay them directly and we get none of it. As of September 2026, Claude Pro costs $20 US a month, or $17 a month paid yearly. Check claude.com/pricing for today's price.
Having someone set all this up for you costs thousands. This is the do-it-yourself version.
Your notes stay yours: ordinary files on your own computer that you can open without us, forever.
Not ready yet?
Leave your email and I will send you 10 percent off, plus a short note when there is something worth telling you. Nothing else, and you can stop it in one click any time.
Express consent, in plain words: you are asking for a discount code and occasional notes from Never Lose the Plot. Every message carries an unsubscribe link that works.
US dollars, once. Sales tax added at checkout where it applies.
Sold in Canada and the United States only, for now.
All sales are final, because it is a download and it arrives the moment you pay. So please read what it does and does not do first. If something in the guides does not work the way it is described, write to us and we will help.
Never Lose the Plot. Plot your map.
Get the kitWhere will you be buying from?
We are selling in Canada and the United States to begin with.
Not yet where you are.
Right now this is only sold in Canada and the United States, because of the tax registrations selling elsewhere would need. That is a real limit and not a brush-off.
If you would like to hear the day it opens where you are, write to hello@neverlosetheplot.com and say where you are. That is all we will use it for.
You will need a Windows or Mac computer, an internet connection, and a Claude Pro plan. You can sign up for one during setup.
Who made this
I work with two AI assistants every day, and half the time I reach the answer while I'm still waiting on them. That's the point. They hold the details, and I stay in charge. I made this to show that AI can be used in a positive way, without being directive or intrusive, and without taking anyone's job. For me it's a bridge to something bigger: restoring this world to the magic we remember.
